3v3 Tournament #1
Hey everyone so we will be having our first ever competitive 3v3 tournament starting August 7th, 2021. Matches will be played on Saturday August 7th. This tournament will accommodate up to 8 teams. The format for the tournament will be chosen once we know how many teams have signed up. The deadline for team sign up is Sunday August 1st. After that date additional sign ups will not be allowed. Please check back from time to time as this post will likely be updated as we answer questions about the tournament from the community.
Rules:
These will be posted before the tournament starts but for the most part they will remain the same as in previous tournaments. Players must a minimum of 1000 kills to be on a roster or we must know you pretty well. Players that fail to show will be barred from the next recreational tournament and | or the next competitive tournament. Please make sure if you sign up that you can be at the tournament.
Tournament Format:
There will be up to eight teams. The tournament format will either be our classic double elimination tournament or perhaps a soccer type group stage tournament will be used. Format will depend on how many teams sign up. In the event of a tie after three games, flag count differential will determine the match winner. If total flags captured is the same, then a fourth map will be chosen, and the match will be decided by sudden death. The following maps will be played in this tournament:

Player Requirements:
All players except those banned or with less than 1000 kills may sign up for this tournament. Players may not sign up using multiple accounts. If a player signs up using alternate accounts the player will be banned from the server. Players who fail to sign up on time may apply late and at the discretion of staff. At least three players on each team must be able to be available for the duration of the tournament.
Teams:
Team rosters may have up to 4 players. Team rosters will be announced on Tuesday August 3rd. During a match it will be 3 v 3. During a game a team may make a substitution upon notifying the game moderators.
Communications:
Red Team or Blue Team channels on discord will be available for team communications. Players are not required to use them. It is very likely that some teams will not have all members able to verbally communicate. It is what it is. Other forms of communications such as teamspeak, mind reading, or watching the twitch feed even if it is delayed are not allowed.
Sportsmanship:
Players are expected to be respectful to all players in chat during and after the games. Please do not insult or bully other players. Winners are expected to win gracefully and not to rub salt into the wounds of losing teams. Failure to comply means it will be at my discretion whether you will be kicked from the tournament or not. Please no hackusations. Staff will be using replaymod and will provide them to the mcball community after the matches. If you suspect a player of hacking please report it to a member of staff, do not make accusations elsewhere.

Sign ups are open now and will close on August 2nd, 2021. To sign up please send an email to mcball-ads@outlook.com. In your email please provide your team name, captain name, and player roster using current minecraft names. No name changes may take place to player accounts during the tournament. Players that change their name will be barred from the tournament.
