Excuse my pessimism, but is it appropriate to pronounce mcball dead? Or as the new hip word thats being used " deceased "?
I gotta admit, It was a great run, it was like a 5 year run? Idk. All i have to say is I had a lot of joy produced while playing here and a lot of memories that will be cherished but for the past year now mcball has failed to produce anything to keep the server going. For the past year I feel mcball has just turned into a damn social network where we discuss our daily problems and start lobbies on Mineplex. I honestly haven't seen over 20 people on mcball since June. Matter of fact there hasn't been a slight change in gameplay this past 6 months. So I'm sorry if I cause anyone to be slightly bitter about this post but if you guys don't start being cognizant of the downfall of this server and start ameliorating whatever it is that the community is requesting, or this server is done for. Maybe you guys can add a new game mode and allow voting for non-donors that will increase the flow of players ? Please don't interpret this as an insult to mcball, this is simply me expressing my feelings and using constructive criticism.

It's not dead, people just aren't going on, even though it's not that hard to go into TS and ask people to play.

"It's not dead, just no one plays it"
Care to rethink what you said there?

Over the years, the server never quite figured out how to advertise and get an influx of players. Being how unique the server is (pure paintball server), I always expected it to reach hundreds of concurrent players with many, many games going at a time.

MCBall doesn't need more content. It doesn't need more developers. All it needs is players.

1. Make MCBall Instagram page
2. Post gameplay clips
3. Steal followers from bigger MC servers' Insta pages
4. ???
5. Profit

the problem with this is that we all know damn well that the majority of the staff/ex-staff/suck-ups won't "be real" unfortunately.

I personally think the main thing that requires to be focussed on in order to 'revive' or 'restore' mcball is to switch to a new generation of administrators.
The current owner, waffletastic, clearly grew up and is no longer interested in minecraft let alone mcball. Understandable I'd say, however a replacement was never really found which is a great loss.
I'm not going to deny that the current admins never tried to get things going again, their efforts I appreciate a lot. However let's face it, they never lasted longer than a few weeks. The 'new developers' in fact never finished/released their 'big updates' of which they often told us on skype. That still bothers me, as I'd been trying to get to such a position for ages. Though, just like waffletastic, I've now moved on to different parts of the Internet.

Anyway, enough about the pessimism. Once the servers are properly maintained again, the best would be to first get the remaining part of the community together. Start posting some fun/social stuff on the forums. A working voting system is also of great importance. Frequent events give players more reason to stick with a community. Other great means of attracting players are livestreaming, youtube videos, etc. For livestreaming it's important to get as many views as possible to get yourself high up in the list. So ask friends or anyone else to just watch the stream even if it's just for the sake of that one view.

MCBall can still get back, I'm sure of that. It's a paintball server unlike any others out there. And, unlike big servers such as mineplex, shotbow (idk if that one's still alive), cubecraftgames, etc. on mcball you don't feel like you're a number: it's a close community.

Goodluck ;)

People have moved onto better things. The game may still be updating but everyone is moving on in life now. Better consoles and graphics mean there are far better games than this that younger generations will play, and older for that matter, but really I think it's just called growing up.
You all stare, but you'll never see, there's something inside me.
