Match Accuracy

I am still highly in favor of a better overall stat configuration.

Instead of just K/d - your player score should be based on K/d, flag captures, flag returns, games won vs games lost, - and yes I think shot accuracy would be a fantastic stat to have added in.

K'd is such a tiny part of the games. It is past time for a more rounded set of stats. The K/d stat being the only one people feel is important - because its the only one that matters to your score - turns people into jerks. People feel that in order to do well they have to camp people. The problems this server sees with camping and turtling is getting increasingly bad. It will also cause a lot of new players to think this isn't a very fun place to play. Can you imagine logging in to your first game ever, and never getting away from spawn because some a*holes in gold and diamond helmets are standing where you spawn and taking you out? You would log back out and delete the server from your list.

The problem is getting worse. I used to love playing here. And some nights I log in and people are being awesome, the games are fun and I have a blast. But more so now, I log in, spend a few minutes dying rapidly from people in my base area - OR spend a few minutes bored watching my team camp the other team - and log back out.

Also, the K/d score is very inaccurate at showing how good or bad you are at MCBall. Having a high K/d doesn't mean you are the best MCBall player. It is a very empty stat, because it is incomplete. It is one tiny part of the over all game.

TL/DR: Having a more well rounded scoring system will create better games, will discourage camping, and create a better overall server atmosphere. It also is a much better indicator of how good you actually are in MCBall CTF.

I'm confused why do you just assume its gold and diamonds spawn camping? That's a little (a word for discrimination against helmets :p)
But your opinion on this accuracy, was way off topic. Can repost something else that has to do on the lines of the accuracy topic. I also always thought K/D was a big part of the game, how else would they score us. By how many kills we get no, how many deaths we get no, that's why the score us on both and combine the 2. But I don't understand how you can just assume how people just delete their server list, how would you know that unless your talking about yourself and assuming other players do it as well. But spawn camping isn't that a big of a problem in my opinion. Its a logical smart strategy. They are still playing the game even if they are spawn camping. But not to put this in a rude way, to get rid of spawn campers you kill them, but if you can't kill them it just helps you get better.

Funnily enough; Kunai, Xorgon and I developed an equation which would incorporate all of the items you have mentioned above. It took into account; Kills, KD, Flag Captures, Accuracy, Wins and Losses and it was then multiplied to a power to give a rounder number. This equation did give a more overall score on the player's ability. I will talk to the staff and see if we can possibly implement it.

Plus, my score was higher than Kunai's when we tested it, so definitely needs to be put in!

That would be truly spectacular. It would be so helpful to the server. And so much more accurate.

Any word on if this is a possibility someday? Or were you just blowing smoke. =p

That is exactly the point. Right now people spend way to much time finding cheap ways to cheat the system. IE: Camping, hiding and manipulating the game mechanics just to get kills.

There is obviously a huge problem. People keep bringing it up again and again and again. And it isn't even the same people. The game isn't fun when people spend the whole time trolling and camping. And K/d is a completely worthless stat on its own. Putting all the stats together into one score makes so much more sense. I'm sorry if you are afraid that it might make your trolling a bit less fun. It is time to learn to play the actual game, instead of seeing just how tricky you can be to get all the kills.
